Nomination and Election of Members

Class 1, 2, 3, and 4 members may be nominated by a Class 1 member on forms supplied by the Grand Secretary, due by February 15th annually with a fee.

Nominations for Class 1 or Class 3 members must include a completed Registered Adult Advisor application unless forms/certificates have been filed within the past year.

All nominations for Class 1, 2, 3, and 4 members require a recommendation from the Executive Officer in the nominee's jurisdiction before Nominating Committee consideration.

Class 1, 2, 3, and 4 members are generally elected by two-thirds of all votes cast by Class 1 members in executive session at the annual meeting, or by a unanimous vote of the Board of Directors for extraordinary cause (once per DeMolay Year).

The Grand Master may confer Class 4 membership status on up to three distinguished, qualified persons when deemed in the best interest of the Order.

Any Class 1, 2, or 3 member may request reclassification to Class 4, which DeMolay International may grant, or the Grand Master may authorize.
