Executive Sessions (DeMolay International)

Election of Class 1, 2, 3, and 4 members, honors, and disciplinary matters must be in executive session.

Election of Officers and Board members, and other confidential matters, may be considered in executive session at the Grand Master's direction or by majority vote of Class 1 members present.

Executive sessions are for issues best discussed in private, fostering discourse, and strengthening trust. The Grand Master (chair) or a majority of directors can call an executive session. Topics include legal issues, crisis management, strategic issues, personnel matters (performance, compensation, succession), and board discussions.

Minutes of executive sessions are confidential and shared only with participants; they should not be attached to regular board meeting minutes
